NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2004

Il Bollettino di Gina
L'estate 2004

With this edition of Il Bollettino di Gina, I will be wishing you all a wonderful summer and happy plans for an upcoming trip to Italy.  Italy has never been more ready to receive visitors than now. Why not take advantage of the opportunities and make those plans for late this year or 2005?

Congratulations to Lynne Schweitzer, the grand winner of a piece of La Mastro Giorgio ceramics. Little did I know, she has a candelabra collection!  A big thank you to all of you who braved the rain and cold temperatures to attend the showing of the ceramics in honor of Gubbio’s patron saint, May 15th. I am also very grateful to Jan and Robert of Pomegranate for giving me the room in the ice house to display the ceramics during the rain storm!  We will do a repeat performance come September for the Festa Italiana. Look for an upcoming announcement in a future Bollettino or Pomegranate mailing.  Now onto more tidbits of Gina’s Italy and friends. By the way, if you pick up a copy of the June edition of Bend Living, you might peek at page 34. Look for a word known to us all, CIAO.

June Events

In a little over two weeks Gina’s Italy will be escorting a lovely family from Portland, Oregon during their trip to Rome, Florence and the Tuscany countryside. We have lots of special events, for both the parents and children, ranging from grand churches with fine works of art to shopping expos held during the month of June.

Soon we will be on our way to la Bell’Italia. Family trips are tops on my list. The planning and making dreams come true are so much a part of what I do best. We are all looking forward to a wonderful experience.

July Events

Seeing is  believing. Often brochures or web sites sell more than they deliver. The truth comes out once the visitor arrives. It can be for the better or for the worse.  For this reason, Gina’s Italy is making a few presentations this summer. Ideally, I can personally meet everyone I escort prior to seeing them in Italy. Most often, a meeting is doable. Sometimes not. This summer, I am organizing a couple of presentations in order to meet as many people as possible. For those in the Bend area or anywhere in Oregon, you can mark July 10th on your calendar for a Bend meeting. If you would like an invitation please contact me at: July meeting

August Events
Here

Southern California, here comes Gina’s Italy!  For anyone in the San Clemente greater area, you can plan to attend a presentation on August 7th. If this day is not convenient, I will also be available to meet you separately either August 6th or 8th.  For more information, please contact me at: Meet Gina in Southern California.

August Events Abroad

Have you ever wanted to dream in Italian?  I did. In fact, after my first intensive weeks during my senior year abroad, the dream happened. I was thrilled when my professors told me the dream was a good sign of my ability to learn the language.  A group of eight participants will have their shot at dreaming in Italian.  The first full immersion class in Italy organized by Gina’s Italy, in collaboration with the British Institute, takes place this August and September.

A second group is forming and will leave late April 2005. Participants will have 56 total hours of instruction, including lab time, plus have the Italian villages assist in the instruction. If it takes a village to rear a child, it takes many villages to teach foreigners Italian. Anyone interested in a full immersion experience should contact me as soon as possible. Call me at: 541-389-3336 or contact me at info@ginasitaly.com for more details.

2004 Trips

Is Italy on your “to do” list for 2004? Maybe you don’t have lots of time but lots of yearning?  My Portrait Tour has room for a couple of more participants. This itinerary is perfect for the person with only about 10 days to travel.  We meet in Italy for our Portrait portion on October 4th. However, a three day add-on to Rome at the beginning of the 9-day Portrait tour is offered. Are you captivated by the idea? Contact me as soon as possible at: Portrait.

We visit non-tourist list villages, towns and people. We walk back into Etruscan, Roman, Medieval and Renaissance history. Ask a friend and add two more to our little group.
